The Kia EV6 GT-Line is an ideal electric car for those seeking powerful performance. Accelerating with this car will make you feel the sensation of being pressed back into your seat.
Kia EV6 GT-Line |
We recently had the chance to try out this new electric car from Kia during the 2023 Gaikindo Jakarta Auto Week (JAW) exhibition at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Monday (13/3/2023).
It is important to note that the car stands on the Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), which is also used by the Hyundai Ioniq 5. However, the Kia EV6 GT-Line surpasses the Ioniq 5 in several aspects, especially in terms of performance and power.
All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system |
The car is equipped with two electric motors, one attached to each front and rear wheel, giving it an All-Wheel-Drive (AWD) system. The Kia EV6 GT-Line boasts a peak power of 320.5 horsepower and a maximum torque of 605 Nm, making it a high-performance vehicle.
These impressive numbers translate into an exciting driving experience, especially in Sport driving mode. However, even in Normal mode, the pull is still very responsive. Kia claims that the car can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds, and after experiencing it ourselves, we can confirm that it is true.

The driver's low sitting position adds to the enjoyment of the ride as it provides an optimal center of gravity. Furthermore, since the car is electric, you won't hear the roar of the engine when it accelerates. However, the car has an artificial engine sound feature that you can use to recreate the sound of a traditional combustion engine.
Advanced Features
Wheelbase of 2,900 mm |
The Kia EV6 GT-Line is a relatively large car, measuring 4,695 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,550 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. The car features Remote Smart Parking Assist, which is incredibly helpful when parking the vehicle. We tested this feature, and it was simple to use.
To use the feature, you need to press a special button on the center console, slowly drive to the desired parking spot, and then follow the instructions on the head unit to park the car automatically. This feature can be used for both parallel and series parking, and it works even better with clear parking lines or other cars around.
Kia EV6 GT-Line - such as a wide sunroof |
The Kia EV6 GT-Line comes equipped with many advanced features, such as a wide sunroof, ventilated and heated front seats, a wireless charger, shift by wire, panoramic curved display, smart tailgate, ADAS, and Vehicle 2 Load.
Mileage of the Kia EV6 GT-Line
The Kia EV6 GT-Line has a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 77.4 kWh. Based on official statements, the car has a range of 506 km from the results of the WLTP Cycle test. When using an 11 kW AC charger, the battery can be fully charged in about 7 hours. The charging time can be even shorter if you use a DC fast charger.
DC fast charger |
With a 50 kW fast charger, it takes about 73 minutes to charge the battery from 10% to 80%, while with a 350 kW fast charger, it only takes 18 minutes for the same charging.
